International Independent Expert Mechanism to Advance Racial Justice and Equality in Law Enforcement
The International Mechanism of Independent Experts to Promote Racial Justice and Equality in Law Enforcement is established “to promote transformative change for racial justice and equality in the context of the work of law enforcement agencies around the world, especially with regard to the aftermath of colonialism and the transatlantic slave and African slave trade, to investigate the response of the authorities to peaceful protests against racism and all violations of international human rights law and to contribute to accountability and the granting of reparation measures to the victims.”
