Inter-American Commission Issues Precautionary Measures as COVID-19 Threatens Indigenous Communities
On July 1, 2022, the Court ordered Provisional Measures requiring the State of Brazil to adopt the necessary measures to effectively protect the life, personal integrity, health and access to food and drinking water of the members of the Yanomami, Ye’kwana and Munduruku Indigenous Peoples[1], from a culturally appropriate perspective, with a gender and age focus.
